On their way to the Galapagos Islands to drop Charles Darwin off, the pirates were getting bored.

Bickering and fighting no longer filled their days as much and the pirates were looking for something fun and new to do.

The pirates had decided to gather together on the deck to brainstorm some ideas. Some of them where looking at clouds, leaning against the mast, sitting down, looking out to sea with their chins cupped in their hands. In a nutshell they were bored, very very bored. Then they began to discuss ideas on what to do.

"We could make bouncy castles out of jellyfish again." The Albino Pirate suggested.
"No, their guts spill everywhere." The Pirate with Gout replied.
"We could ride sea turtles." The Pirate Who Likes Sunsets and Kittens added.
"No they're too slow." The Pirate with a Hook where his Hand should Be argued
"Besides there aren't any sea turtles around here." The surprisingly curvaceous pirate corrected.

While they were arguing, Charles Darwin walked up to the deck on knocked on the Pirate Captain's cabin door.
"Captain, can I come in?" Charles asked politely.
"Yes, come in Chuck." The Pirate Captain replied cheerfully.
Charles opened the door and walked in.

The Pirate Captain was combing his luxuriant beard and admiring it in front of a mirror.
The Pirate with a Scarf was putting away the bear grease that the captain used to make his beard soft and glossy.

Upon seeing Charles standing in his cabin, the Pirate Captain moved away from the mirror, put away the comb and greeted him.
"Hello Charles, what can I do for you?"
Charles hesitated to say the question that was on his mind, like a guy trying to ask a girl on a date. He acted this way, because he knew the pirates would still be suspicious of him, ever since he had tried to steal Polly. He was nervous that the Captain wouldn't grant him his wish or tell him off.
Charles knew that he couldn't stand here all day worrying and wasting the Captain's time, so he plucked up some courage and asked his question meekly.

"Hello Pirate Captain, I was… um wondering if I could borrow Polly for a bit. I wanted to draw her in my journal since she is such a special and unique specimen… if it's alright with you of course."

"You want to borrow my precious Polly eh?
The heart and soul of my ship?
Well alright but if you borrow her for too long, I'll run you through with my cutlass…ARRR" The Pirate Captain threatened pausing and adding an arrr in there for effect.

In reality the Pirate Captain liked Charles, and didn't mind that he appreciated and wanted to borrow Polly, but he was a pirate after all and had a reputation to keep.
Charles stepped back slightly in a calm manner; slightly to show that he understood the threat, but calmly to show that he was brave and not intimidated.

Inside he felt terrified, but he was very good at acting brave on the surface. It was probably what had saved him from being run through by several cutlasses back when he was travelling on the HMS Beagle.

"Alright, Pirate Captain." Charles replied nonchalantly.
Charles then took Polly in his arms, thanked the Pirate Captain for his permission and went to the sleeping quarters.
As Charles left the captain's cabin, the sight of Polly in his arms attracted the pirate crew's attention and then The Surprisingly Curvaceous pirate had secretly come up with a plan to ease the crew's boredom; which involved Charles's love for creatures.

Charles put Polly on his hammock and gently patted her to show that he meant her no harm. Polly cooed softly and closed her eyes in contentment.
Charles then picked up his diary and quill, opened the diary and started to draw.
After he had finished drawing Polly, Charles picked her up and went to the Captains' cabin.
He asked permission to walk in, received it and entered.
The Pirate Captain was polishing his cutlass, no doubt to reinforce his threat and to make him look tough. He had a steely gaze fixed on Charles and gave a low growl.
This sent a nervous shiver down Charles' spine. Maybe he was going to go through with it after all, he though nervously but quickly dismissed the idea. Charles quickly thanked the captain for Polly, wished him goodnight and nimbly left the room.

It was now dinner time, everyone was at the table and they all ate. The meal wasn't ham though to Charles' surprise, it was a dark and light pink mottled greasy substance.
After the meal Charles noticed that the ham night banner was not there and asked.

"Why isn't the ham night banner hung up?"
The Pirate Captain replied in a matter of fact way "Didn't we tell you Charles? Our ham supplies ran out so we cooked rat instead."
Charles then turned a bright shade of green, put his hand to his mouth, pushed his chair out and left the galley to go vomit.

"I was only joking Chuck, it was just fried Spam." The Pirate Captain shouted amusingly.
Charles then returned to his seat and had a glass of water with an annoyed look on his face.
The whole crew then laughed heartily.
The next day Charles had begun to pack his things in his quarters. He was alone.
There was a bit of rough winds and rain at the moment and it blew Charles's blanket off the hammock.
Back on the deck The Pirate with a scarf had gotten his scarf, clothes and hair wet since the wind had blown off his hat and it was raining. He then picked up his hat, took off his scarf and jacket and went to the sleeping quarters to dry himself off and change clothes.

With a bit of rotten luck the blanket had landed near the scarfed pirate as he entered the quarters, The pirate with a scarf tried to pick it up, as did Charles and they both made eye contact. The Pirate with a scarf's hair looked sleek and straight and a bit feminine and with his scarf and jacket off. The circumstances were like when Charles had mistaken the scarfed pirate for a girl all over again.
They both blushed and had heavy shades of red on their faces. The scarfed pirate gave the blanket to Charles quickly.

"Uh.. here you go." The Pirate with a scarf said sheepishly.
Charles thanked him.
"For both our sakes, lets pretend it never happened so we can get along, alright?" Charles suggested.

"Alright." The Pirate with a scarf agreed with a smile on his face realizing that this was the start of a new friendship free of embarrassment and awkward situations.

The journey soon passed and the ship arrived at the Galapagos Islands. Charles collected his things said his goodbyes and settled himself on the islands with the unpleasant and pleasant memories of the amazing adventure he'd had with the pirates.
Here it is, the final chapter of my Pirates band of misfits fan fictions.

Sorry it took so long :iconsapphiershadows: but my second year of university is merciless in terms of workload.

I liked your stories--they were creative and humerous. I like the idea of Charles Darwin sketching Polly. I'm surprised he remembered mistaking Number Two for a girl, but I'm glad they're going to start over as friends. Maybe Charles could teach the crew a game so they wouldn't be so bored.
